West’s ranch, located just outside Cody, Wyoming, recently appeared on the listed property market for $11 million, according to TMZ. According to the New York Post, West initially bought the property, known as Monster Lake, for about $8 million before buying a second plot of land in the state for $14.5 million. The 4,500-acre Monster Lake property is equipped with eight housing units, two freshwater lakes, a restaurant, an events center, meeting facilities, and a barn. The ranch is best known as the birthplace of Kanye’s 2018 album Ye, and where he invited many artists, influencers, and members of the press to hear the project for the first time.
The Wyoming estate was reportedly the subject of a dispute between West and estranged wife Kim Kardashian, who filed for divorce with the rapper in February. West recently spent $57.3 million on a 4,000-square-foot beach house in Malibu, California, in late September.
Dirt reports that Kanye’s $57.3 million purchase was actually a steal since the home was first listed last year for $75 million. Rapper’s purchase is the second-highest number ever paid for a home in Malibu this year, after an $87 million transaction recorded in February. The home is located about 30 minutes from West and Kardashian’s Hidden Hills compound, which the couple purchased in 2014 for $20 million.
