Actor Dwayne Johnson has spoken out about receiving news of the death of his father, professional wrestler Rocky Johnson, on the first day of filming Red Notice. In a new interview, he said that he had to leave the shooting of Red Notice and go to the funeral. He then revealed how his co-stars Ryan Reynolds and Gal Gadot supported him after he was back on set.
Red Notice is an action heist film starring Ryan Reynolds, Dwayne Johnson, and Gal Gadot. The film was released on Netflix on 12 November. In Red Notice written and directed by Rawson Marshall Thurber, an FBI profiler (Dwayne) partners with the world’s greatest art thief (Ryan) to nab the world’s most wanted art thief (Gal).
In an interview, Dwayne said, “On the first day of filming, my dad died.” He then told how Ryan welcomed him on his return to the set. Dwayne said, “The moment I walked in the door, Ryan gave me a big hug and said, ‘I got you, man’. The love, bond and brotherhood is there,” The two have been friends for more than two decades, having first met at MTV’s Spring Break in Cancun in 2002.
Talking about Gal Gadot, Dwayne said, “Gal is always taking care of the people around her and has the most positive presence.” He said how Gal would always make him happy. He said, “Gal would get the giggles, then I would get the giggles, and then we would all go. I’ve never laughed as hard as I did on this film,”
